For parents and students

Contact a Tutor on WhatsApp or by Phone

Call or WhatsApp a LessonPro tutor straight from their profile, or ask us for help if you cannot reach them. No sign-up and no fee.

Every tutor profile on LessonPro has a WhatsApp button and a Call button. Tap one and you are talking to the tutor directly. There is no sign-up, no fee and no middleman.

WhatsApp and Call buttons

In the LessonPro app, the buttons sit in the bar at the bottom of the tutor's profile, beside Request a lesson. On the website, they are beside the tutor's rate on a computer, and in a bar at the bottom of the screen on a phone.

  • WhatsApp opens a chat with the tutor in your WhatsApp.
  • Call opens your phone's dialler with the tutor's number.

When you message or call, the tutor sees your number, the same as with anyone you contact. LessonPro does not show your number on any profile.

If the tutor has switched off new students, the Request a lesson button is replaced by Not taking students. WhatsApp and Call still work, so you can ask about next term.

Prefer a written request with your times, answered by SMS? Request a lesson instead.

Cannot reach the tutor? We can help

A tutor may be in a lesson and unable to answer at once. Give them a few hours, or send a WhatsApp message they can answer after a lesson.

Still nothing? On the tutor's profile on the website, tap the line under the contact buttons that reads, for example, Can't reach Ama? We can help.

  1. Type Your name and Phone number.
  2. Add your email if you like, and check the Subject.
  3. Tap Call me back.

Someone from LessonPro will call or text you to help you find a tutor, this one or another. No SMS code is needed for this form. You can also look for other tutors yourself on Find a Tutor.

In the app, open More, then Support, and message us on WhatsApp.

What to say in your first message

A clear first message gets a clear answer. Include:

  • that you found them on LessonPro
  • the student's class and the subject, for example "JHS 3, Mathematics, BECE next year"
  • your area, and whether you want lessons at home, at their place or online
  • the days and times that suit you
  • a question about their rate and lesson length

For example:

Then compare what they say with what other tutors charge. What private tutoring costs in Ghana. Before the first lesson, read our home tutor safety tips.
