How to Send a Tuition Invoice From Your Phone

Create a tuition invoice in the LessonPro app, add lessons and amounts, and share a link or PDF with the parent. They see your MoMo number to pay.

A tuition invoice tells a parent what the lessons cost, in writing: the subject, the number of lessons, the price per lesson and where to pay. You make it in the LessonPro app, then send it on WhatsApp as a link or a PDF.

Invoices are free, and the money goes straight to you. LessonPro never touches it. You need a verified profile to create one.

Create an invoice

  1. On your dashboard, under Tools, tap Invoices.
  2. Tap New invoice.
  3. Under Bill to, type the Student or parent name, for example "Mrs Akua Boateng".
  4. Add their number under Their phone (optional, only you see it) if you like. It opens their WhatsApp chat when you share, and it is never printed on the invoice.
  5. Fill in Line 1: pick the Subject, add a Description (optional) such as "WASSCE core maths", then the number of Lessons and the Price per lesson (GHS). Your hourly rate is filled in for you.
  6. Teach more than one subject? Tap Add a lesson line.
  7. Add a Discount (GHS, optional) and a Note (optional, printed on the invoice), for example "Lessons for November".
  8. Pick a Due date: Today, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, 30 days or No due date.
  9. Check the Total, then tap Save and share.

The Pay to line under the total shows the mobile money number parents will see. If it says you have no number yet, tap Set your mobile money number first. Add your MoMo number.

Not ready to send? Tap Save draft. A draft and a sent invoice can still be edited. A paid or void one cannot.

After Save and share, the invoice opens with two buttons:

  • Share link sends a short getlessonpro.com link. The parent opens it in any browser, with no app and no account.
  • Share PDF sends an A4 PDF, for parents who want a file to print or forward.

Pick WhatsApp, SMS or email from your phone's share sheet. Sharing a draft marks it Sent.

The parent sees your name, your LessonPro code, your Ghana Card verified badge, each lesson line ("4 lessons x GHS 150.00"), the total, your note and the Pay to mobile money number. They can download the PDF or message you on WhatsApp from the page.

You can also send invoices from the website: sign in and open the Invoices tab on your dashboard.

Mark it paid

When the parent pays you, by MoMo, cash or bank transfer:

  1. Open the invoice and tap Mark paid.
  2. Under How did they pay?, pick Mobile money, Cash, Bank transfer or Other.
  3. Under When?, pick Now, Yesterday, 2 days ago or 1 week ago.
  4. Tap Confirm paid.

LessonPro makes a receipt at once, numbered like RCP-0001, and locks the invoice so it always matches the receipt. Send the receipt to the parent as proof of payment. Give a tuition receipt.

Made a mistake, or the lessons were cancelled? Tap Void, type VOID and confirm. The invoice link stays up and shows VOID, and its number is never used again.

A paid invoice can be voided too. Open it and tap Void invoice. Its receipt is voided with it. To fix only the receipt, see Give a tuition receipt.

Every payment you record counts in your earnings. Track your earnings and download a statement.
