Profile Views and Contact Taps Explained
Read your LessonPro analytics: what counts as a view and a contact tap, the 7, 30 and 90 day switch, the daily breakdown and how to get more of both.
Your dashboard counts two things that matter before any lesson is booked: how many parents looked at your profile, and how many tried to reach you. Read together, they show whether parents are not finding you, or finding you and choosing someone else. That tells you how to get more students as a home tutor.
What a view and a contact tap are
A profile view is one visit to your public profile, on the website or in the LessonPro app. If the same person keeps refreshing the page, we do not count every refresh.
A contact tap is a tap on the WhatsApp or Call button on your profile. The dashboard splits them: WhatsApp on one side, calls on the other. A tap means the parent opened WhatsApp or their dialler. It does not prove they sent the message or finished the call.
The other numbers you may see:
- Shares: someone used Share profile to send your profile to another person.
- Requests: lesson requests you received.
- Booked: lesson requests you accepted.
How to read them together. Many views and few contact taps can mean parents find you but choose someone else. Look at your photo, bio, rate and reviews. Few views means parents are not finding you yet. Share your profile more and check your subjects and area.
Daily breakdown and the 7 / 30 / 90 switch
On your dashboard, the switch above the tiles changes the period: 7D, 30D or 90D for the last 7, 30 or 90 days, including today. Each tile compares the period with the one before it, for example these 7 days against the 7 days before.
For more detail, tap Daily breakdown on the Profile views card:
- Pick the period at the top.
- Each tile shows a total and the change from the period before.
- Tap a tile to see that number per day as a bar chart. Today's bar is gold.
Days follow Ghana time. The breakdown also shows your all-time totals.
New to LessonPro? You will see "Data starts from today". The charts fill in day by day.
Five ways to get more views
- Share your profile link yourself. On your public profile, tap Share profile and send it to parents you already know, your WhatsApp status, and school or church groups where that is welcome. Each completed share is counted.
- Use a clear photo and a full bio. A face is easier to trust than an empty circle. In the bio, say which levels you teach, how you run a lesson and what results you have had. Edit your profile.
- Collect reviews. Ask the families you already teach. How to get more reviews.
- Earn the gold badge. Add a certificate, such as your NTC licence or B.Ed. The badge shows on your card in search results. Add certificates.
- Keep Taking new students on when you have space. Tutors who switch it off still appear, but after tutors who are taking students. Taking new students.
